Home Inspections performed by JN Donohue Associates include evaluation of all components of the dwelling and lot, including: lot improvements, exterior elements such as siding, windows, roof, garage, the building structure including foundation walls and wood framing, electric system, heat and air conditioning systems, plumbing, bathrooms and kitchen, interior elements, appliances, and Wood Destroying Insect inspection. Additionally, a Radon test will be performed at most homes. Your home inspection will be as thorough as possible and will be conducted in accordance with the New Jersey Standards of Practice for home inspections. Our home inspections are many times more thorough and comprehensive than the minimum required by the state standards.

JN Donohue Associates currently has two home inspectors on staff, James Donohue, P.E. and Shane Donohue.

James N. Donohue, PE is a NJ Licensed Structural Engineer and New Jersey Licensed Home Inspector. He has performed over 7,500 residential home inspections over the past 30 years. Additionally, James Donohue has also performed over 3,000 structural evaluations of residential and commercial facilities including: foundation wall defect analysis, retaining wall analysis, concrete slab crack and settle, wooden structure analysis including sagging, bulging, thrusting, water penetration issues, and other modes of failure.

James Donohue earned a BS degree in Civil Engineering with specialty in Structures and Construction Engineer from Rutgers University College of Engineering in 1982. He was granted membership into Chi Epsilon, the National Civil Engineering Honor Society. He holds New Jersey professional registrations as a NJ Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), NJ Licensed Home Inspector, NJDEP Radon Measurement Technician, and NJDEP Licensed Wood Destroying Insect Inspector. He is also affiliated with several professional associations including NJ-ALPHI (Association of Licensed Professional Home Inspectors) and NJ-ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors).

Shane Donohue is a NJ Licensed Home inspector and Council Certified Microbial Investigator. Shane Donohue has been with JN Donohue Associates for 13 years. He has performed or assisted on over 2,500 home inspections. He is a NJDEP Radon Measurement Technician, NJDEP Licensed Wood Destroying Insect Inspector, and a Council-Certified Microbial Investigator. He is also affiliated with several professional associations including NJ-ALPHI (Association of Licensed Professional Home Inspectors) and NJ-ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors).
